1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or otherwise using Arxlate (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

3. Account responsibilities

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • You agree not to abuse the Service, attempt to circumvent rate limits, or scrape arXiv.org via our infrastructure beyond what arXiv's terms permit.
  • You will not use the Service to generate or distribute spam, malware, or unlawful content.

4. Service description

The Service translates academic papers from arXiv and uploaded PDFs, produces a bilingual reader, and offers an AI chat over the translated content. Models, languages, quotas, and pricing may change over time; we'll communicate material changes in advance.

5. Acceptable use & content rights

  • You must own, or have a licence to translate, any PDF you upload.
  • For arXiv papers, you agree to respect arXiv's policies and licences. Translations inherit the original paper's licence; redistribution requires the original author's permission unless the licence allows it.
  • Do not upload content you do not have rights to translate, or content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or third-party privacy.

6. Payment, refunds, cancellation

Paid plans are billed through Stripe. We do not store payment card details. You may cancel at any time from /settings; access continues until the end of the paid period. Unused credits may be refunded within 14 days of purchase on request to support@arxlate.com. Translations already produced are non-refundable.

7. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Translations are AI-generated and may contain errors; do not rely on them for safety-critical or legally binding decisions without independent verification.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Arxlate, its operators, and contractors from any claim arising out of (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these terms, or (c) your infringement of any third-party right via content you upload.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, abuse the Service, or expose us to legal risk. You may terminate at any time by deleting your account at /settings. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (liability, governing law, etc.) will survive.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Russian Federation. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless applicable consumer-protection law mandates otherwise.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
